YASENSE Excel is an award-winning software package that allows anyone to turn MS Excel spreadsheets into live and robust calculations using OPC and/or SQL inputs. WHAT DOES IT DO AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
It takes an (existing) Excel spreadsheet and converts it into a robust executable program (in fact a Windows Service that we call the Yasense Excel "Runtime") that continuously calculates the results of the spreadsheet based on OPC or SQL inputs.
Since Excel is only used to describe the data processing and does not need to run afterwards, YASENSE Excel offers industrial-strength robustness for on-line 24/7 operations. The calculation results are published on the industrial network using OPC and/or shown in a live web dashboard. That dashboard is also defined in the Excel file, so there is no need to learn new software tools. The OPC outputs can be visualised, used for automatic process control, for continuous monitoring and alarm generation… YASENSE Excel opens up a whole new area of production optimization opportunities. |

The user chooses which models to deploy, start or stop using YASENSE Excel. The models run inside the Runtime Module.
YASENSE Runtime Module is a robust online runtime platform with watchdog capabilities that runs the model and interfaces with the PLC/DCS/SCADA of your plant or laboratory, for example over OPC or SQL. Inside the PLC or DCS program, the YASENSE virtual sensor manifests itself just like any other function block like Subtraction or PID function blocks: a module with some inputs, outputs and parameters that can be easily configured and maintained by any PLC/DCS programmer.
The system is also expandable with pre- and postprocessing in the PLC or DCS (filters, averaging, limits, safety values, dynamic models,...).
